Mogao Grottoes is also called the Thousand-Buddha Grottoes of Dunhuang. It lies at the foot of Mingsha Hill, 25 kilometers away from Dunhuang, Gansu Province. Mogao Grottoes is one of the three most famous grottoes in China. The others are the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang and the Yungang Grottoes in Datong. The Mogao Caves was discovered by accident. In 1900, a Taoist priest named Wang Yuanlu came across a door sealed by bricks. Upon opening it, he found a number of white parcels. Wang had no idea that he had opened a door that would shock the world and lay the foundation for a significant new area of study. The poor priest simply wanted to sell some scriptures and relics for money.

750
Two Song-dynasty paintings on its walls show Bodhisattvas on a journey. This is the latest evidence of use of the cave and from this it can be surmised that around the beginning of the eleventh century, when the Western Xia people invaded this area and conquered Dunhuang, monks at the Mogao Grottoes prepared to flee. They sealed the cave and never returned. For nine hundred years, the room was silently shut off from the world. In the year 1900, when the passageway was being cleaned of debris, this stone archive full of sutras, books, embroideries and sculpture was suddenly discovered. It had some 50,000 items in it and these were later found to include not only a large number of Buddhist sutras, but also Daoist works and works of the Confucian canon, in addition to historical records, poetry, literature, information on geography, population, business accounts, calendars and so on. It was discovered to be a full library containing material that documented some ten dynasties, from the Jin in the 4th century to the Song dynasty.

Mt. Emei is the highest one among all the famous sight-seeing mountains in China

Mt. Emei is located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. It is towering, beautiful, old and mysterious. Mt. Emei is like a huge green screen standing in the southwest of the Chengdu Plain. Looking its winding and beautiful figure, you will find that it resembles very much an eyebrow of a girl. It is the highest one among all the famous sight-seeing mountains in China. Welcome to China for Guangzhou fair. HRC is pleasure to provide Guangzhou hotels booking, China Tour guide, like Sichuan tour, Huangshan tour.

 724
Mt. Emei is a sacred Buddhist haven. It is one of the four most divine Buddhism Mountains in China. This Buddhist legacy mainly contained in the numerous temples and the buildings bears witness to the unusual historical role of the mountain in Buddhism development since the religion was introduced to China over 2,000 years ago. The mountain enjoys great popularity among Buddhists in China. Every morning streams of Buddhism pilgrims armed with joss sticks conquer the steep stairs of the mountain and swarm into the countless temples.

726
Today, Emei Shan is visited by thousands of Tourists and Pilgrims every year and during the summer month the easy accessible paths leading to the top can get really crowded.  Most people make it to the “Golden Summit” (Jin Ding) at 3’077 metres. A 1 hour walk along the mountain ridge leads to the Wanfo Peak, with 3’099 metres the highest point of Emei Shan. Wanfo Peak can also be reached via an overpriced monorail. The strenuous walk all the way from Baoguo village to the Golden Summit (Jin Ding) takes about 10 hours. Less keen hikers can take one of the frequent buses from Baoguo bus station to Wuxiangang, Wannian or Leidongping and start walking from there. There are many different paved walkways leading around and to the top of the mountain. Due to its location and altitude (over 3000m), botanists will find a unique biological diversity on the Mountain. Unfortunately, most of the original structures of the Temples and Monasteries where destroyed during time. Most of today’s 30 Monasteries have been rebuilt only recently. For those who do not want to spend the night on the mountain can use Baoguo village as a base to explore Emei Shan. The tickets cost between 100 and a 120 Yuan depending on the season and are valid for 2 entries into the park.

The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is one of Yunnan's protected nature reserves

Yulong ("Jade Dragon") Snow Mountain lies about 20 kilometers north of the city of Lijiang in the northwest corner of Yunnan Province. The mountain, which covers a total area of some 400 square kilometers, stretches about 32 kilometers in a roughly north-south direction, and about 13 kilometers in a roughly east-west direction. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain faces Haba Snow Mountain, with Tiger Leaping Gorge - and at its bottom, the Yangtze River, aka Jingsha River here in its upper reaches - barely separating them. Welcome to China, Chinatourguide.com is pleasure to provide service for your China tours or Cambodia tour, We also provide Guangzhou hotels for Canton Fair in guangzhouhotel.com.

 711
The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is one of Yunnan's protected nature reserves, and it has attracted the attention of many scholars and travelers.
The first impression the River of White Water (Baishuihe, Black Water River) leaves on travelers is the limpid water. The source of the river is the melting snow on the nearby mountain, and after undergoing a process of filtration on the nearby rocks, the water pours into the river a gorgeous clear color. Trees grow along either side of the riverbed while a little further away snow-capped peaks stand imposingly against the sky. It is possible to travel upriver either on foot or by horseback from here.

709
A chairlift has been built up the mountain. The first section takes you about halfway up, near Love-Suicide Hill, where you can rent horses to ride to a large meadow. The second chairlift, the highest in Asia, takes you to a stunning 4506m, where walkways lead to awesome glacier views. Watch out for the symptoms of altitude sickness here-Chinese entrepreneurs sell bags of oxygen to chain-smoking Chinese tourists for around 30 RMB.

Wat TraiMit houses the world's biggest gold Buddha image

Wat TraiMit is located at the end of Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road near the Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lam Phong). This temple is known for its famous Golden Buddha, constructed during the Sukhothai period. The beautiful image of pure gold is three meters high and weighs five and a half tons. Wat TraiMit houses the world's biggest gold Buddha image, persumably 700 to 800 years old. It is a valuable treasure of Thailand and of Buddhism. Local worshipers worship here and rub gold leaf on the wat's other smaller Buddha images to make merit. Indochinatourguide is pleased to offer great service in your Thailand Tour.

t30
The actual temple has little architectural merit, but off to its side is a small chapel containing the world's largest solid-gold Buddha, cast about nine centuries ago in the Sukhothai style. Weighing 5? tons and standing 10 feet high, the statue is a symbol of strength and power that can inspire even the most jaded person. It's believed that the statue was brought first to Ayutthaya. When the Burmese were about to sack the city, it was covered in plaster. Two centuries later, still in plaster, it was thought to be worth very little; when it was being moved to a new Bangkok temple in the 1950s it slipped from a crane and was simply left in the mud by the workmen. In the morning, a temple monk who had dreamed that the statue was divinely inspired went to see the Buddha image. Through a crack in the plaster he saw a glint of yellow, and soon discovered that the statue was pure gold. There is also an excellent museum that follows the history of the Tha Chinese that is highly worth visiting.
Traimit’s temple building comprises four levels. One of the levels contains a museum, which explains the origin and history of The Golden Buddha. When I visited Traimit, the museum was displaying an exhibition about Chinese immigrants in Thailand.

Ta Som is a Buddhist temple

Ta Som is a Buddhist temple, built during the reign of King Jayavarman VII in 1186 and dedicated to the memory of his father. Ta Som is located just east of Neak Pean and in the north east of Angkor Thom.

The temple is oriented towards the east, although the modern tourist entrance is from the west; its towers are arranged in quincunx around the platform. Most have collapsed, and this, the east tower, is the only one left standing. It is seen here from the east, which was the original entrance to the temple.
The inner gopura has one entrance door top with a tower but not the face tower. Just like the second gopura, the inner gopura has its wings as small rooms decorated with delight Apsaras. The fronton of this inner gopura also has standing Alovaketesvara with devotees paying respect as praying, however, the fronton is now placed on the ground nearby.

Hiking along Tiger Leaping Gorge

Tiger Leaping Gorge is a contender for the world's deepest river canyon, depending on the exact definition used. It stretches from the Qiaotou village through the Zhongdian County and eventually ends at the Daju village, Lijiang City.

 685
Hiking along Tiger Leaping Gorge, except viewing the wonder and unique sceneries, you can also visit some local Naxi People’s family and stay overnight at some halfway lodge. The inhabitants of the gorge are primarily the indigenous Naxi people, who live in a handful of small hamlets. Their primary subsistence comes from grain production and foreign hikers (as well as Chinese). Welcome to China, Chinatourguide.com is pleasure to provide Yunan tour for you, we also provide other China tours and indochina tours with local guide.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is no doubt an independent hiker's first choice in China. This magnificent gorge holds several peaks at both sides up to 6000 meters. 4000 meters vertically down from the summits flows the roaring Yangzi River (the longest river in China).
Standing beside the Tiger Leaping Gorge, you would be overwhelmed by the roaring torrent and impressive spectacle. The numerous tiger leaping rocks lurked beneath to prevent the torrent and creates the thundering surges, which makes itself a great getaway for hiking-lovers. With its unbeatable charm, the tiger leaping gorges attracts uncountable adventure-addicts to pay a visit annually.

686
Except getting a wonder view from Tiger Leaping Gorge, some of tourists are like hiking along theTiger Leaping Gorge. The hiking trail runs along the base of the Haba Peak providing spectacular views of 7,000 foot cliffs yielding to the jagged pinnacles of Jade Dragon Mountain that rise another mile above them. Overall, it’s about 13,000 feet from the river to the top of Jade Dragon. The Gorge is only about ten miles in length if you were swimming, but by foot it’s a rigorous twenty-plus mile hike.
But hiking in Tiger Leaping Gorge is not so easy; even there is some good physical shape. The path is constricts and crumbles, therefore, you’d better take well prepare before you begin your hiking. The other thing should care about is raining. When it’s raining (especially in July and August), there are landslides, swollen waterfall which can block the paths. Therefore, before you go to hiking along Tiger Leaping Gorge, you need to learn well about the weathers of your hiking days.

The Sule Pagoda is a good starting point for exploring the city

The Sule Pagoda is located in the Downtown Area at the heart of Yangon (Rangoon), Myanmar and for centuries it has been the focus for the social and religious activities of the city.

b29
The Sule Pagoda was made the center of Yangon by Lt. Alexander Fraser of the Bengal Engineers, who created the present street layout of Yangon soon after the British occupation in the middle of the 19th century. (Lt. Fraser also lent his name to Fraser Street, now Anawrattha Street and still one of the main thoroughfares of Yangon). it is a Mon-style chedi (pagoda), octagonal in shape, with each side 24 feet long; its height is 144 feet, 9 l/2 inches. Except for the chedi itself, enlarged to its present size by Queen Shin Sawbu (1453–1472), nothing at the pagoda is more than a little over a century old. Around the chedi are ten bronze bells of various sizes and ages with inscriptions recording their donors' names and the dates of their dedication. Various explanations have been put forward for the name, of varying degrees of trustworthiness: according to legend it was called su-way, meaning "gather around", when Okkapala and the divine beings inquired about the location of Singattura Hill, and the pagoda was then built to commemorate the event; another legend connects it su-le, meaning wild brambles, with which it was supposedly overgrown, and a non-legendary suggestion links it to the Pali words cula, meaning "small" and ceti, "pagoda".Khin Maung Nyunt, from a series of articles on famous bells in Burma in the Working People's Daily: this article published 31 January 1988. Indochinatourguide.com is pleased to take you to grab a genuine Myanmar tour.

 c40
There is a story associated with Banteay Samre. In this story, there was a poor farmer named Pou. He planted sweet cucumbers from seeds he received through some supernatural way. When he got his first harvest, he presented it to the king, who found it so sweet that he wanted it all for himself. He commanded Pou to kill anybody who enters the cucumber field.Indochinatourguide is pleased to offer great service in your Cambodia tour.

Banteay Samre in Cambodia is somewhat "off the beaten track", located away from the more visited Angkor temples. The temple is named after the Samre, an ancient ethnic Indochinese tribe most likely related to the Khmers. Banteay, is a Khmer word for citadel. In its architecture and style the temple bears a very similar resemblance to both its neighbour, Banteay Srey, and the majestic Angkor Wat itself. Banteay Samre highlights would have to include the interior moat which when filled with water must have given the temple a mystical and peaceful sensation. And then of course, the temple's location and surroundings set within beautiful rice paddies and local villages.

Perched atop Red Mountain in the western part of the Lhasa Valley, the Potala Palace looms over its surroundings at a staggering 3,700 meters above sea level (Mt. Fuji stands 3,776 meters tall). The palace is easily the most imposing manmade structure in the world at this elevation: a colossal fortress with a golden roof rising from a mountain top, surrounded by imposing turreted walls and entered via a number of gates. The majestic building unsurprisingly became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

591
Lozang Gyatso, the Great Fifth Dalai Lama, started the construction of the Potala Palace in 1645  after one of his spiritual advisers, Konchog Chophel (died 1646), pointed out that the site was ideal as a seat of government, situated as it is between Drepung and Sera monasteries and the old city of Lhasa.[3] It may overlay the remains of an earlier fortress, called the White or Red Palace,[4] on the site built by Songtsen Gampo in 637. Today, the Potala Palace is a museum.

The Terrace of the Leper King is ornately carved

The Terrace of the Leper King is located on the way from the Bayon temple to the Dei Chhnang Gate on the left and north of Terrace of the Elephants. It was built in late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. The curious name of this terrace refers to a statue of the Leper King that is on the platform of the terrace .The naked figure is depicted in a seated position with his right knee raised. Today statue is a copy. The original is in the National Museum in Phnom Penh. Who was the Leper King? Mystery and uncertainty surround the origin of the name. The long-held Theory that King Jayavarman VII was a leper and that is why he built so many hospitals throughout the empire has no historical support whatsoever. Many people like it in Cambodia Tour.

c32

Some historisns think the figure represents Kubera, god of wealth, or Yasocarman I, both of whom were allegedly lepers. Another idea is based on as inscription that appears on the statue in characters of the 14th or 15th centuries which maybe translated as the equivalent of the assessor of Yama, god of death or of judgment. Yet another theory suggests that the Leper King statue got it name because of the lichen which grown on it. The position of the hand, now messing, also suggests it was holding something.
The Terrace of The Leper King is ornately carved. The finest carvings are found on the eastern wall. The carvings feature deities with swords, parasols, and other figures. To view the hidden relief, you can climb down a flight of stairs in the southwest corner. The carvings are similar to those on the outer walls.

The Golden Rock is easy to get to from Yangon

The pagoda is situated in Mon State, and is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site. The boulder is entirely covered by gold leaves pasted on by devotees. The legend says that it is a strand of Buddha's hair that keeps the pagoda balancing on the edge of the hill.
